Obituary of Jordan Li Kenna
Please share a memory of Jordan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jordan Li Kenna of Forest Hills died last week while away at college. She was born in China on June 26, 2005 and was first named "Zheng Li Yan" but did not meet her "forever" family until April 3, 2006.
Jordan was a first-year student and Physics Major at the State University of New York at Oneonta. She was a 2023 graduate of Archbishop Molloy High School and a 2019 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy.
Jordan was a passionate and active softball player. She first started playing softball for the Forest Hills Youth Activities Association, where she also played soccer for 10 seasons. Usually in the catcher's position, Jordan always gave it her all. She continued playing in high school where she was set to be the starting catcher in her freshman year, but sadly that season was canceled due to the Covid pandemic. She continued to play as a sophomore and the team took the Catholic schools city championship. In her junior and senior years Jordan played for Lady Daimond Pros, Pro Game Fury and Intensity and enjoyed the travel experience playing in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
She also loved building and fixing computers and serving as "tech support" for her family and spending time in the Hamptons.
Jordan leaves behind her parents, Frank and Stacey Kenna, and brother, Connor, all of Forest Hills and so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to activeminds.org, a nonprofit dedicated to changing the conversation about mental health. Active Minds is opening up the conversation about mental health through research, education and advocacy.
