Obituary of Luz Maria Izurieta

Luz Maria Izurieta, age 102, loving mother of 8 sons, devoted wife to Alejandro Izurieta, unforgettable grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and a gracious great grandmother to 18 great grandchildren passed away the morning of September 5th after a courageous battle with time. Lucita was born in Ecuador on June 15 1920. She was the 2nd oldest of 4 sisters. In 1937, while working in her mother’s hat shop in Guayaquil she met the love of her life, Alejandro, with whom she went on to share 53 years of marriage. They moved to New York in their silver years and continued installing family values in their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The love for family that they shared will continue to be passed on through generations to come and for that we shall forever be grateful.
