Italian, born on June 7th , 1925. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Iris and grandsons Richard and Eric.
Marina is survived by her daughter Marina and son Joseph, her
grandchildren Carl, Joseph Jr., Anthony, Nicholas and Jeanette. She is also
survived by her 10 great grandchildren, Kevin, Joseph III, Danielle, Luca,
Anthony Jr., Kayla, Nicholas Jr., Gianna, Shaianne and Arieanna.
She worked as an Administrator with the Electricians Union. One of her
favorite things to do was travel, especially to her homeland of Italy. She
visited, Tangier, Morocco, Greece, Egypt, France, Spain, Portugal and
Isreal just to name a few. Marina loved to dance, and she danced well. She
was fluent in Italian and Spanish.
Fond memories of her include:
Her son around the age of 6 years old would be outside playing and
running around like a typical boy and be a mess. His pants hanging, 1
shoelace untied, his shirt untucked and sticking out all over the place.
Joey’s hair pointing in every direction possible. His mother would come
home from work, and he would go running to her, she would hug him, tie
his shoes, pick up his pants, tuck his shirt in and push his hair back into
place. All of this followed by a kiss and then going in to prepare dinner. It
made him feel brand new and refreshed and ready to make a mess all over
again.
Her daughter remembers meeting with her every Saturday to eat pizza, her
mother would give her change to put in the jukebox she can play music
while they ate and spend the day together doing whatever shopping that
needed to be done.
Carl remembers a time when he stayed with her, they would have big
discussions about various topics. He would tend to question things and ask
her “why?” She would jokingly get mad at him and say that she is “washing
her hands of him” and was “done”. It was just that way and her way and
there was no questioning it.
Joey remembers the time she took him and Carl to Italy. He said it was a
great experience to learn about our culture through her and making
memories with her.
Nicky remembers his dad taking him to Florida and from there they took a
cruise to the Bahamas. He was 8 years old; she would love to tell him
stories of when she was a little girl. He will miss those days.
Jeantte’s fond memory was when her grandmother took her to Italy as a
graduation gift. They spent 2 weeks there. Jeanette remembers being so
proud and impressed with her grandmother being able to communicate with
the locals there.
If you remember anything about her, remember that she loved even when it
was foolish, and she cared even when it was unwanted. Remember her
heart.
