Aunty Christine knew me since I was a baby and all of my family since Guyana, her and the family would come and visit us in St. Maarten often! When we moved to New York, my sister and I would go over to their house as much as we could. Aunty would make sure we always ate, her cooking was filled with love and she enjoyed telling us stories, making sure we were okay too. Then when I told her who I’m getting married too, she was so excited for me. Last year we told her that I’m expecting and it was as if she was gaining another member to the family.
She will be missed.
